Purchasing Systems At Rheinenergie: More Than Just Technology

A look behind the scenes - discover how we help RheinEnergie meet the daily challenges of purchasing with innovative technical solutions.

 

In the ever-changing energy industry, it is crucial that companies like RheinEnergie AG optimize their processes, increase efficiency and realize cost savings. On this journey into the future of procurement, RheinEnergie decided to introduce Ivalua as an innovative procurement suite and integrate it seamlessly into its existing SAP backend systems.

The project objectives in the joint project with parasus were clearly defined:

The first step was to implement the supplier and material interface. To this end, comprehensive workshops were held in collaboration with parasus to analyze and implement the interfaces in detail. At the same time, the exact requirements of the specialist departments were determined, the necessary IDocs for the interfaces were created and customized solutions for specific customer requirements were developed. Unit and integration tests ensured smooth functionality.

The integration of the supplier data in Ivalua created a central source of information, which led to a considerable increase in efficiency in the procurement processes. Automation significantly reduced manual effort, shortened approval cycles and processing times. This in turn enabled more streamlined processes and increased productivity, both in purchasing and among requisitioners. The seamless data integration between Ivalua and SAP improved collaboration between departments, promoting effective communication and coordination.

Ivalua’s integrated solution provides a scalable platform that can easily keep pace with business growth and changing procurement requirements. The successful completion of the first phase of the project lays a solid technological foundation for the future interaction between Ivalua and SAP at RheinEnergie.

But the project is more than just technology, both for us and for RheinEnergie. Working together with our customers is just as important to us as achieving the jointly set project goals. So it’s even better when we receive positive feedback.

Further planned milestones include the establishment of additional interfaces, including contract, order and invoice interfaces. The aim is to further automate processes and intensify cooperation with suppliers.
