The daily work involves some challenges. Together with RheinEnergie, we were able to reduce the day-to-day tasks of purchasers with technical solutions.
RheinEnergie AG is a Cologne-based energy service provider with almost 3,000 employees supplying around 2.5 million people in industry, commerce and trade with energy and drinking water.
RheinEnergie is convinced that entrepreneurial commitment is particularly effective when it goes along with the latest technical developments. The purchasing department, in particular, is finding new solutions to the challenges that arise in day-to-day work as a result of this conviction.
Whereas purchasing systems used to be merely maintained, but not continuously updated to the latest state of the art, today the focus of this business unit is on continuous process and system optimization.
Together with RheinEnergie AG, we, parasus GmbH, have therefore developed a procedure that ensures seamless cooperation between divisions as well as departments and thus helps to implement projects and tasks in the best possible way.
Apart from keeping the purchasing system operational, we also installed updates and optimized software and processes for RheinEnergie AG. The technical contact function was also taken over by us, parasus GmbH.
The first step was to identify, the state of the of the processes and which system-critical points are to be monitored. In collaboration with RheinEnergie, we subsequently analysed the current process landscape and defined so-called white spots for optimization. The interaction of the different areas and departments, as well as SAP and non-SAP systems, required a high level of understanding of internal processes.

For our approach, it is elementary to ensure above all the support aspect through a high level of user proximity and availability. The term support is extended by various workshops to identify further topics that involve process optimization and thus the reduction of process costs – we are talking about continuous development.

A first successful year in support and project handling has already allowed important issues to be addressed and completed. The next milestones include driving forward purchasing process optimization, further improving collaboration with suppliers and specialist departments, and fully utilizing the potential of the software used.
